De Queen Medical Center is honored to be a member of your community, serving you, your family, friends and neighbors. In fact, you may know some of our employees from church, school or clubs. Because we are so much like family, you can be sure that the warm, caring welcome we extend is sincere. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible while you are here and please be assured we will strive to achieve that objective.

Happy well-trained, courteous and affectionate people are our greatest asset. The work of concerned, dedicated employees is the surest way to good patient care. It is therefore our policy to be consistently concerned with conditions or situations, which will make our hospital a desirable facility.

Accommodations at De Queen Medical Center offer a choice of private and semi-private rooms.

Telephone
Family and friends can call directly to your room between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. by calling extension 4 plus the room number for a private room or 6 plus the room number in a semi private room for the second bed. For example, if the room number is 56, call 870-642-7572 ext. 456 for the A bed 656 for the B bed.

Chaplains from the area visit the hospital daily. Upon request, a nurse will call the clergyman of your choice.

Release of Financial Information:
In complying with the HIPAA Federal Regulations and Guidelines we at De Queen Medical Center must have a release for anyone other than the guardian, to check on financial information for another person.

Your Admission
Your admission to the hospital is requested by your physician a member of the hospital medical staff. At the time you enter the hospital, you will be asked many questions by the admitting personnel. In addition, you will be asked if you have advance directives (living will or health care power of attorney). This information is necessary and we appreciate you cooperation. In some cases your physician will send you to the hospital prior to your scheduled procedure to be pre admitted. This will expedite your time in admissions the day of your procedure.

Unless you are an emergency patient, you should arrive at our admitting office at the time specified by your physician's office. This is especially important for patients scheduled for surgery. Of course, emergency patients are admitted any hour of the day or night.

Financial Services
If you have no insurance, or your coverage is less than 100%, arrangement should be made regarding your hospital bill prior to discharge. You will be expected to make a cash deposit. This deposit may be paid by cash, check, or major credit card. Your insurance is a contract between you and your insurance company. While the hospital will make every effort to assist you in filing and collecting from your insurance, you are ultimately responsible for your account.

If pre-certification is required by your insurance coverage, please make every effort to notify the Admissions Office no later than time of admission.

Physician fees, Radiology Interpretation fees, and certain Laboratory/Pathology Interpretation fees will be billed separately from your hospital bill.

Any questions regarding the financial responsibility of your hospital stay should be directed to the Business Office. We have a financial counselor that will be glad to provide any assistance you might require.
